William Lee (Tiny) Absher, age 43, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012. Born February 9, 1969 in Fairfax, Virginia, he was the son of Sylvia Absher of Raven, Virginia and the late Lloyd Absher. He was an employee of Omega Highwall Mining and a former employee of Gasco Drilling Co. He was a member of Mending Heart Fellowship Church at Raven. He was a loving son, father and husband. They call him Tiny but he had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Horn and Mae Steele and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Rena Absher. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Kim Maynard Absher; one daughter, Brandi Absher of the home; one son, William Paul Absher of Swords Creek, Va.; one stepdaughter, Kayla Rife of Raven, Va.; three brothers, Jeff Absher and wife Sabrina of Pounding Mill, Va., Phillip Absher and wife Tonyia of Pounding Mill, Va. and Stacey Absher of Raven, Va.; one sister, Cindy Absher of North Tazewell, Va.; two special aunts, Ivy Carroll of Coalwood, W.Va. and Debbie Roberts of Archdale, N.C.; mother-in-law, Joyce Maynard of Oakwood, Va.; father-in-law, Marvil Maynard of Abingdon, Va.; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2012 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with the Rev. Shane Breeding officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.. Pallbearers will be Clint Maynard, Sonny Tickle, Zachary Tickle, Kevin Vance, Chad Sparks, Jessie Roberts, Matthew Boyd and J.D. Eads. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Omega and members of Mending Heart Fellowship. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
