Virginia Maxine (Dye) Owens, 91 years of age of Deel, VA, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Finney, VA, she was the daughter of the late George and Julie Sutherland Dye. She was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Vansant Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and was co-owner of Owens Furniture Store at Deel, VA, from 1962-1975.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Owens (January 9, 1997); her step-mother, Sylvia Sutherland Dye; Brothers and Sisters, Donald Dye, Carl Dye, Harold Dye, Douglas Dye, Ruby Buckles and Mildred Owens.

Those left to cherish her memory include 2-Daughters: Leigh Owens of Deel, VA, and Leona Owens of Deel, VA; 3-Half-Sisters: Patty (Charlie) Conner of Waynesboro, VA, Imogene (Bob) Colby of Richmond, VA, and Liza Byers of Haysi, VA; Sisters-in-Law: Evelyn Wimmer and Pat (Fayne) Viers; Brother-in-Law: Parlie Meadows.

Also, survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Virginia Maxine (Dye) Owens will be conducted Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Thacker and Mike Boyd officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.

Active Pallbearers will be Ricky Davis, James Ward, Eural Viers, Richard McCoy, James Owens, Gary Meadows, Harold O'Quinn, Rick Ellis, Allen Owens, David Johnson and Craig Viers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J.G. Patel, Dr. Copley, ICU Staff of Buchanan General Hospital, 3rd Floor Nursing Staff of Buchanan General Hospital, Men of Vansant Baptist Church and Men of Coleman's Chapel United Methodist Church.
