Verna Marie Dawson, 69, of Nemours, WV passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at her daughter's home in Sterling, VA. She was the daughter of the late Randall E. Sr. and Bertha M. Redford Hill and the granddaughter of Thomas H. and Beulah M. Medwell Hill and John H. and Tille Harmon Redford.

In addition to her parents and grandparents she is preceded in death by sisters Mildred Maxine Hill and Melissa Hill Jones Kidd; brothers Randall E. Hill Jr., Thomas Jerden Hill, Jerry Lee Hill and Eddie Lane Hill and a special nephew Jackie Ray Hill.

Those left to cherish her memory are the loves of her life, daughter Vickey Lynn Dawson Cook (Brad) of Sterling, VA and granddaughter, Kayla Cook (Brent) of Sterling, VA. Sister, Wanda S. Kirkpatrick of Birmingham, AL. Life partner Homer Wiliby of Falls Mill, VA. Special nieces Debbie Keczan (George) of Nemours, WV, Tammy Helmandollar (Billy), Brittney Helmandollar and Courtney Helmandollar all of Alabama. Special nephews Jeff Keczan (Loressa) of Princeton, WV, Jeremy Keczan (Lindsey) of Morgantown, WV, Jonathan Hill (Angie) of Princeton, WV, Eddie Hill Jr. (Jeanette) of Cleveland, OH, Daniel Hill (Angie) of Mt. Sterling, OH and Toby Jones (Dawn) of Richlands, VA. Many other nieces, nephews and cousins that Verna loved dearly.

Verna retired from Bluefield Beverage.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA. with Pastor C.T. Lilly officiating. Friends may call Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bluefeild, VA.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Keczan, Jeremy Keczan, Johnathan Hill, Eddie Hill Jr., Daniel Hill, Toby Jones, George Keczan and Billy Helmandollar.
