N Tazewell, VA - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Troy Bartley of N Tazewell, VA. Troy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and minister. He died on December 19, 2025 at the age of 87. Troy was proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Verda Bartley of New Brunswick, Canada, his sister Erma Stiles, and his beloved daughter, Michelle.

Troy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Bartley; his son, Paul Bartley (wife Kelley); his daughter, Tonya Bartley; five grandchildren; Jordan Schwinn (husband Dylan), Brian Bartley (wife Jessie), Katlyn Thomas (husband Daniel), Matthew Trainham and Kaylee Hayden; one great-grandson, Boone Bartley; and his sister, Ruth Paige (husband James).

A lifelong minister of the Assemblies of God, Troy dedicated over 50 years of his life to serving the Southwest Virginia community and his congregations. Even in retirement, he continued his ministry at the Tazewell First Assembly of God, where his compassion and commitment to those in need never wavered. Known for this visits to the sick and his kindness to all, Troy was the kind of man who never met a stranger.

Troy was well-known and loved in his community for his selflessness, love for others, and deep faith. Whether you knew him as Troy, Dad, Grandaddy, Uncle, Brother Bartley, or Friend, his memory will be with us forever. He will be deeply missed by his family, church family, and the countless friends he made throughout his life.
