Travis Scott Estep Obituary
Palatka - Travis Scott Estep, age 39 of Palatka, FL, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and surrounded by loved ones, Saturday, August 28, 2021 in the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL following a long illness.
Travis was born July 19, 1982 in Richlands, Virginia a son of Lyman and Daisy Estep. Travis was a graduate of Iaeger High School. He was a retired welder/fabricator and volunteer fire fighter at Montcalm Fire Department where he served for 10 years. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Travis had an adventurous heart and a strong will. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing on the boat. He also loved to tinker in the garage just to get his hands dirty. He also had pure joy in building model cars.
Trav never met a stranger, he could befriend anyone. He truly was an amazing man who loved being a dad, husband, and a great friend.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Dave and Macy Estep Baker and maternal grandparents, James and Fannie Waddell.
Survivors include his wife Latrinda Estep of the home, daughters, Jaiden and Reese Estep, stepchildren, of the home Landon, Lauralye and Ryleigh. Parents, Lyman and Daisy Estep of Jolo, WV; brother, Brandon and wife Chastidy; niece, Sky-Lynn and nephew Zavian Estep all of Cedar Bluff, VA; a few dear friends, Angela Akers, Blair Taylor, Matt Simpson, Mark Welch, William Jones and Justin Fowler.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, September 5, at 11 o'clock with Reverend Charles Rose, Reverend John Jenkins, Elder Gary Estep, Elder James Stacy and Elder David Lester officiating at the Old Samariah Old Regular Baptist Church in Groundhog near Jolo, WV. Burial will be in the Estep Cemetery on Estep Ridge near Jolo, WV. Matt Simpson, Blair Taylor, Justin Fowler, Chad Estep, Brandon Estep and William Jones will serve as pallbearers.
Friends visited with the family Saturday evening, September 4, 2021 at the Old Samariah Old Regular Baptist Church in Groundhog near Jolo, WV after 6 p.m. where an evening service was conducted at 7 p.m.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, is assisting the family.
