RICH CREEK, VA — Thomas C. "Tommy" Wickline, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA, after a long illness. Born February 5, 1944, in Lindside, WV, he was the son of the late Melvin G. and Cora Alice Wickline.

After he graduated, Tommy worked a few jobs until he went to work at Celanese in Narrows, VA. He served two years in the U.S. Army, then came back and worked nearly 35 years at Celanese. Things he was most proud of was the time he spent in the hollow with family and friends. He was especially happy when his son, Douglas, was in on leave from the U.S. Air Force and they could spend time in the hollow together. He was also happy and had many fond memories of when he went to fire school with the Celanese Brigade. He was an instructor in acetone recovery, where he worked most of his time at Celanese.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Douglas D. Wickline and wife Xenia; and grandson, José. A lady that he was very pleased to get to know and was very fond of was Melinda Ellis Zonts. Also surviving are two sisters, Gertrude (Bill) Hall, and Loretta (Larry) Hale; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Minister Don Henegar officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until time of services at the funeral home.
