Princeton - Stuart Olan Conner passed into the loving hands of his creator on June 10, 2026, joining his wife of 59 years in heaven. He was born September 18, 1939, in the old Princeton hospital in Mercer County, West Virginia to Ted and Martha Conner.

He spent a happy childhood in Matoaka, WV. He was married to the love of his life, Shelvie Conner of Lashmeet, before her passing in 2017. They were high school sweethearts, and he dedicated 25 years of his life to caring for her after a severe stroke. During this time, they shared many laughs and traveled throughout the southern US.

They are cherished by their children Teresa Ann Conner and Stuart Olan Conner, Jr. who survive them. He has three beautiful granddaughters, Lauren Kerr, Evie Conner and Victoria Janisch along with three great grandchildren, Zachary Sykes, Ryan Sykes and Josie Janisch and a daughter-in-law, Hope Conner.

He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years exploring southern WV. He had a strong interest in the geology, wildlife, people and mining of southern West Virginia. Many Saturday or Sunday afternoons were spent with the family exploring old coal mine locations, historic markers and grave sites of fallen miners. He was a proud coal miner as was his father. His father was given a deferral from service in World War II to keep the large mine boilers running because of the importance of southern WV coal to the war effort. His grandfather ran one of the only non-company stores on Conner Mountain, named for the family. Later in life, he oversaw a large region for mobile MRI units and was well respected by his colleagues and direct reports. He was brave, funny, loyal, dependable, fair and insightful. His children are who they are because of his support, encouragement and unwavering belief in their talents. We will miss him tremendously, especially his stories and wry sense of humor. We love you dad.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Princeton with Pastor Jeff Valentine. There will be no services at the funeral home.
