Pounding Mill, Va - Sarah Catherine Cochran, age 90, of Pounding Mill, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Leisha.

She was born in the Little River section of Tazewell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Thomas Ferguson and Sallie Altizer Harrison.

She had made her home in the Earls Branch area most of her life and attended Yost Chapel. She was known for her loving smile and loving heart and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cochran; one son, Ralph Michael Cochran; sisters, Ethel Beavers, Lucille Gillespie, Ruby Collier, and Willetta Simpson; and brothers, Lawrence, James A., Glen, and Willis Harrison.

Survivors are: Daughter: Leisha F. Powers of Pounding Mill, Virginia. Sister: Mozelle Vandyke of Orlando, Florida. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

The family wishes to thank MSA Hospice and their nurses, Paula and Jeanie for the loving care provided during Sarah's illness.

Funeral services for Sarah Catherine Cochran will be conducted Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11am at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Chuck Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at the Earls Family Cemetery at Cliffield, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Jim Delp, Wayne Cochran, Allen Harrison, Greg Hurst, Bobby Alicie, Mike Meyers, and Donnie Harrison. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Earls and Kyle Meridith. Friends may call after 6pm Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
