Sarah F. Bailey, 79, of Lashmeet, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 10, 2024, from complications of Alzheimer's. Born July 3, 1945 in Lashmeet, she was the daughter of the late Kyle Tibbs and Nell (Clark) Tibbs.
Sarah was of the Baptist faith and worked more than 20 years at Maidenform before its closure then retrained to become a CNA for 25 years at HealthSouth/Encompass.
In her spare time Sarah enjoyed cooking and was known by the family for her homemade rolls and by her co-workers for her homemade candy, especially at the holidays.
She especially loved spending time with her Grandson Kyle while her health allowed.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Curtis (Eddie) Bailey, Jr.; and two sisters, Norma Lee Hurst and Brenda Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include three siblings, Charlotte Lett, Roger Tibbs and Deborah Cecil; two sons, Dwayne (wife Leslie) and Brian (wife Melissa); four grandchildren, Sarah Brown, Robbie Jarrells II, Kyle Bailey and Sean Ward and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor James Ford officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Sarah may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
A poem in honor of all those who struggle with Alzheimer's:
"Do not ask me to remember, Don't try to make me understand, Let me rest and know you are with me, Kiss my cheek and hold my hand".
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 17, 2024 from noon until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
