WELCH - Robert "Bob" Kowaleski, 67, of Welch WV, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at his residence. Born November 30, 1947, He was the son of the late William J. and Stella Groski Kowaleski. He was raised Catholic and Attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Powhatan WV, in later years he attended the Methodist Church in Welch. Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding his Harley. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a 1967 graduate of Northfork High School. He worked at Semet- Solvey at Caples WV, U.S. Steel in Gary WV, and retired in 2010 from Platnick Steel and Engineering in Bluefield VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his Maternal Grandparents, Stanley and Michelene Groski, and Paternal grandparents, Joseph and Stella Kowaleski, and one brother Stanley Kowaleski. Survivors include, his beloved wife of forty five years Sandy Kowaleski of the home; one daughter, Kristen Albrecht and husband Mike of Burke Mt; one son Kevin Kowaleski of Concord N.C.; three grandchildren, Alexandra and Michael Albrecht of Burke Mt, and Austin Kowaleski of Salisbury N.C.; his special cat "Bella"; one sister, Wanda Ferrell of Powder Springs, Ga. Funeral Services will be conducted, Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1 P.M. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch WV, with the Rev. Olen Butcher- Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell WV. Friends may call, Friday, June 19, 2015 from 12 Noon to 1 P.M. at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch WV. Pallbearers will be Joe and Billy Kowaleski, Mike Capparelli, Charlie Rushbrook, Kevin Kowaleski, and Mike Albrecht. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Bary.
