Raymond Nicholas (Petryczkowycz) Peters Obituary
Raymond Nocholas (Petryczkowycz) Peters, 66 formerly of Switchback, West Virginia passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Loving Hands Assisted Living, Bluefield, WV.
He was Born on May 15, 1950 in Ascherode, Germany to the late William and Annie (Petryczkowycz) Peters of Switchback, WV.
Raymond came to America in 1951 with his parents to reside nearby his mother's family in Switchback. He obtained his American Citizenship with his parents in 1957. He attended Maybeury Elementary, Northfork Elkhorn Junior High and graduated in 1969 from Northfork High School. Raymond was a member of the Key Club, the Blue Demons Marching Band and as their starting right-guard (No. 53) football player from 1967 - 1969. Later he attended Bluefield State College graduating with an associate science degree in mining. Afterwards, he was employed by Pocahontas, Turkey Gap as mechanic/electrician and Virginia Foods.
He is survived by his two brothers William (wife, Glenda) of Winfield, WV and Michael (wife, Joyce) of Bluefield, WV; niece Kari (husband, Bryan) Wilson of Richmond, KY, nephews Eric J. Petryczkowycz of Barboursville, WV and Matthew (wife, Callie) of Bluefield, WV.
Services will be held at St. Mary's Orthodox Church of Bluefield, WV on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11: AM with friends viewing at the church one hour prior to service by Father Matthew Stagan and Father Elias Crowder. Entombment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Garden Mausoleum of Bluefield, WV.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Mary's Orthodox Church, Bluefield, WV.
