Tazewell, VA - Peggy Sue Carr, age 74 of the Tip Top section of North Tazewell, VA, passed away peacefully September 25, 2025 in Tazewell, Virginia with her loving husband by her side.

Born May 14, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Baker and Ludie Keith Baker.

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great - grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She devoted her life to God and spreading the gospel as the pastor at Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle. Peggy was an advocate for serving her local community. With the exception of Hawaii, she visited the other 49 states.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ray Meade, Emmett Meade, Fred Meade, Hubert Meade, David Meade, Buford Meade and Gene Baker; three sisters, Rosie Vance, Beatrice Neece and Agnes Jenkins.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Larry Carr; two sons, Daniel Carr and wife Shena of Wilmington, NC and Ricky Carr and wife, Misty of Christiansburg, VA; daughter, Melissa Anderson and fiancé Greg Lester of Pounding Mill, VA; grandchildren, Hailey Carr, Seth Carr, Hannah Carr, Brent Anderson, Dylan Carr and Blake Anderson; one great-grandchild, Freya Carr. Several nephews, nieces and a host of additional family and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle, 6990 Baptist Valley Road, North Tazewell, VA, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 1, 2025 with Brother Wayne Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA with Seth Carr, Brent Anderson, Blake Anderson, Dylan Carr, Jake Vance and Josh Vance serving as pallbearers.
