Born October 17, 1958 in Bluefield, WV she was a daughter of the late Billy Harold Richardson and Pauline Neal Richardson Burton. She was of the Christian faith, attending Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a former dietitian at Bluefield Regional Medical Center for 10 years. Polly was a very special person who was always helping others. She loved dogs, listening to old music and was a very good cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Steve Robert Burkhart, Jr. She is survived by her husband Steve Robert Burkhart, Sr., her son Tim David Burkhart who was the light of her life, sisters Linda Baldwin of Bluefield, WV, Jo Ann Neal and her husband Jody of Bluefield, WV, Judy Neal and her husband Randy of Atlanta, GA, Cathy Perdue and her husband Mike of Bluefield, WV, Tammy Roberts and her husband Rick of Holly Springs, NC; brother, Billy Richardson and wife Lynn of Bluefield; grandchildren, Tim David Burkhart, Jr. of Bluefield, WV, Christian Breanne Burkhart of Bluefield; she raised Brandon and Chris Stables who thought of her as a grandmother; mother-in-law, Nancy Burkhart special niece, Amber Marie Perdue of Bluefield who she raised; and sister-in-law, Deb Nunn and husband Larry of Bluefield. The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Thursday April 24, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday April 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Tim David Burkhart, Jr., A.J. Roberts, Steve Cox, Matt Cox, Chris Stables, and Butch Sawyers will serve as pallbearers.
