NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. - Paul V. "Paul-Paw" Brewster, age 74 of North Tazewell, VA died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. He was born December 14, 1940 at Logan, WV and was a son of the late Dow and Sallie Curry Brewster. Paul was a Graduate of George Wythe High School and had retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation as an engineer, after many years of service. Mr. Brewster was a member of the North Tazewell Lion's Club, Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62, O'Keeffe Royal Arch Chapter #26 of Royal Arch Masons in VA, Clinch Valley Commandery #20 of Knights Templar in VA, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #187 in Tazewell, VA and several other community organizations. Paul was a member of the Tazewell Christian Church in Tazewell, VA where served as Elder, sang in the choir and was a member of the Disciple Men's group. After retiring you could see him around Tazewell selling mops and brooms for the Lion's Club or selling tickets for various events. Paul was an avid sports fan; his favorite teams were: the Virginia Tech. Hokies, Washington Redskins and the Cincinnati Reds. He was a loving husband, friend and brother who will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of over fifty years, Daisy Layne "Miss Daisy" Brewster, who passed on August 17, 2013; his son, Robert Von Brewster; two brothers, Joseph Brewster and Glen Brewster; brother-in-law, Cecil Lambert; sister-in-law, Mae Brewster. Those left to cherish his memories include his sister, Melaine Fraley and husband, Charles of Roanoke, VA; sisters-in-law, Mary Brewster of York, PA and Mary Katherine Lambert of Wytheville, VA; special friends and adopted family, Joe and Carla Cline of North Tazewell, VA and their children, Nathan and Gracie, whom Paul and Daisy loved as their own grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many, many friends also survive. Funeral services for Paul V. Brewster will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Hurst - Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with the Rev. Ed Tiller officiating. Masonic Funeral Rites will be conducted by the Brothers of Tazewell Masonic Lodge #62 and Brethren from other Lodges. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery in Wytheville, VA. Pallbearers will be Joe Cline, Nathan Cline, John Mundy, Jr., Kirby Lambert, Kevin Lambert, and Kelly Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be John Mundy, Sr. and the men of Tazewell Christian Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014.
