Bluefield, WV - Patricia Ann Hale Taylor, age 69, of Bluefield, West Virginia passed away, early Sunday, on July 5, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born May 22, 1957, in Bluefield, West Virginia, Patricia was the daughter of the late Howard Hubert Hale and Florene Jesse Howard Hale.

Upon graduating from Bluefield High School, Patricia attended and graduated from Virginia Tech, with both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Early Education. She was an active member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority, at Virginia Tech. She was a lifelong educator, teaching locally in the Bluefield area for most of her career. She also taught in Roanoke, VA and at Concord University.

Patricia was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and later a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She was an active member of the East River Mountain Garden Club and the Trillium Garden Club. She was very proud to be a Master Gardener.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 44 years, Peter Brookins Taylor, daughters' Ashby Perkins of Wytheville, Virginia Mowery (husband Dr. Nathan Mowery) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Zane Anthony Perkins, Halen Taylor Perkins, Wyatt Hopkins Mowery, Grady Everett Mowery, Brooklyn Maya Mowery, and Payne Nolan Mowery.

Services to celebrate Patricia's life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 200 Duhring Street Bluefield, West Virginia, on Thursday July 9, 2026, with Reverand Paul Barker officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 11:30 am followed by the funeral service and internment at the church columbarium.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Christ Episcopal Church Food Pantry or the Bluefield Union Mission.
