Nancy Vermillion Rush

Surrounded by loved ones, Nancy Vermillion Rush of Bluefield, WV entered Heaven Thursday August 8, 2019. We celebrate this and the fact she is now whole and no longer suffers the ravages of Alzheimer's disease.
Born July 20, 1947, Nancy was the youngest child of Floyd B. Vermillion and Ida Dove Vermillion.
Nancy was a 1965 graduate of Bluefield High School and attended Bluefield State College. In 1966, she began her career with General Telephone Company, now Frontier Communications. She retired in 2011 after forty-five years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bluefield.
In 1968, Nancy married John Campbell Rush. They shared forty-nine years together and raised their daughters Lori and Allison. Family was Nancy's number one priority. She loved having her children, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family in her home. The more gathered around the kitchen table sharing stories and making new memories, the happier she was.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John Campbell Rush; infant daughter, Rebekka Renee Rush; infant son, Scott Christopher Rush; sister, Lucile Vermillion Vass; brothers, Floyd B. "Junior" Vermillion, and Hobert "Jenkie" Gundell; and nephew Anthony Shires.
Nancy Rush is survived by her children, Lori Lianne Rush and her children Olivia Trinity and Sophia Grace, and Allison Rush-Hester and husband Russell and their children Campbell Elizabeth and Willow Grace; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Gundell, Laura Rush, and Shela Vermillion; nephews, Michael Vermillion and Maddox Vermillion; nieces, Cheri Burnett, Beth Vermillion, Kim Fox, Kathy Gundell, and Robin Vermillion; great nieces and nephews, special cousin Barbara Scott, and life-long friend, Debbie Webb.
The family of Mrs. Rush is most grateful for Brenda Craft, Amanda Houk, and Teresa White who provided loving care and support for Nancy and the family during her illness. We are very thankful for the dedicated care and assistance of Amedisys Home Health.
Visitation will be at Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield, WV on Sunday evening, August 11, 2019 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
