Myrtle Rife Daniels Obituary
Grundy - Myrtle Rife Daniels, 79 years of age of the Lynn Camp Branch section of Grundy, VA, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY, surrounded by her family.
Born on October 17, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Rathmer Rife. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a 1961 graduate of Mountain Mission School and was valedictorian of her senior class. She was an honors graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College and the University of Pikeville. She was a retired educator from Buchanan County Public Schools.
Myrtle was a member of the Poplar Creek Church of Christ, and a member of the Poplar Creek Church of Christ Ladies Circle.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her sisters, Faye Rife and Beatrice Simpson, and brothers, Tommy Rife, Jr. and J. V. Looney.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years, Ronnie Daniels; her children, three daughters, Rhonda and husband Bill Anderson, Jr.; Katy Daniels; Mary and husband Richie Mullins; and one son Clinton Andrew Daniels. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sara Anderson, Rhea Anderson, Matthew Mullins, Daniel Mullins, and Justin (Lyndsey) Daniels; one great-grandchild, Ahleah Daniels. Additional survivors include her sisters, Doris Blankenship and Elsie Stevenson.
Visitation will be conducted at Grundy Funeral Home on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. with services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services for Myrtle Rife Daniels will be conducted on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Jim Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Valley Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be her son, Clinton Andrew Daniels; grandsons, Matthew Mullins, Daniel Mullins, and Justin Daniels; sons-in-law, Bill Anderson, Jr. and Richie Mullins; and Joshua Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Daniels and the Men of Poplar Creek Church of Christ.
