Mrs. Shirley "Ment" Obituary

Born March 18, 1942 in Rowe, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late John Jackson and Georgia Hess Stiltner. A lifelong resident of the Buchanan and Tazewell county areas, she attended Prayer Warrior Church and Freedom Ministries. Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Buford McGlothlin of the home; four daughters, Deborah McGlothlin Brady and husband, Frank of Pounding Mill, JoAnne McGlothlin Hedgecock and husband, Keith of High Point, North Carolina, Jennifer McGlothlin Elswick and husband, Curtis of Abingdon, Tammy McGlothlin Shelton and husband, Ricky of Richlands; one son, Johnny McGlothlin and wife, Nickoel of Oxford, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, Billie Joe LaForce, R.J. Shelton, Cody Shelton, Chase Elswick, Audrionna Elswick, Logan Elswick, Micka Brady, Victoria Hedgecock, Ava McGlothlin, Emma McGlothlin, and Cora McGlothlin; seven great-grandchildren, Luke and Tyler Wilson, Tanner LaForce, Khloe Short, Camden and Harper Shelton, and Raylan Huff; one surviving sister, Alice Elliott of Columbus, Ohio; and two surviving brothers, John Jackson of Columbus, Ohio and Eugene Stiltner of Oakwood, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Mickey Hale and Rev. Leonard Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be grandsons, R.J. Shelton, Cody Shelton, great-grandsons, Luke Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Chase Elswick, and Logan Elswick, and family friend, Keith Ball. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Sue Prill, Dr. Michael Rowell, Dr. Clint Sutherland, the wonderful nurses and staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center Chemotherapy Center. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday, where an evening song service will be conducted at 7:00 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.honakerfuneralhome.net.
