Minister Alfonzo Dalton Sr., age 95, of Gary, WV, departed this life on Friday, March 21, 2025, in Beckley, WV.

He was born in Gary, and the son of the late Tom and Mattie Dalton.

He was a graduate of Gary District High School and retired from U.S. Steel Preparation Plant in Gary. He was a member and minister of New Bethel Church also in Gary.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; daughter, Beverly and his six siblings.

He is survived by his children: Katrina Dalton of the home; Alfonzo (Dora) Dalton Jr., of Ohio, Dr. Benjamin (Gale) Dalton of Michigan and Dr. Timothy (Preah) Dalton of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a host of nephews and nieces; his brother-in-law, Carroll Kates and sisters-in-law, Frances White and Sallie Walton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church, 104 Park Street in Bluefield, WV. Visitation 11:00 AM, until time of Service. Interment 11:00 AM, on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Restlawn Cemetery in Bluewell, WV.
