Mildred "Millie" E. Wilburn, 96 of Claypool Hill, VA and formerly of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 12, 2019.
Born in McComas, WV, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edith Huffman. She was employed by National Electric Coil Company and went on to work for Bluefield Hardware until her retirement. She and her husband, Frank enjoyed wintering in Florida.
She was a member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Sarah-Creasy Circle, served on the Administrative Board, the Parsonage Committee and others. She was also active in her church in Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother: Thelma Huffman; her husband: Frank Wilburn; 3 sisters; 4 brothers; step-son: Jerry Wilburn.
She will be lovingly and affectionately missed by her son: Barry Lee Frye (Karen), granddaughter: Jordan (Michael) and grandson: Brett all of Douglasville, GA; great-grandchildren: Harper Lamar, Harper Emily, Maddie Jimerson and Cole; daughter-in-law: Carole Wilburn; grandchildren: Jay (Maria), Scott (Rosemarie), Steve (Stephanie) and Mark all of northern, VA; great-grandchildren: Chase, Cole, Emma, Avery, Gavin, Tiffany and Brittany; sister: Katie Burgess of Pekin, IL.
A service to celebrate Millie's life will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ray Petty officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
Dudley Memorial is serving the Wilburn family.
