Mildred L. "Maw Maw" Davis Obituary
Mildred L. "Maw Maw" Davis, age 77, of O'Toole, near Anawalt, W.Va., went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, Nov. 5, 2011 at her residence after a long illness. Born March 12, 1934 in Elkhorn, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Worth Farmer and Opal Phillips Farmer. She was a member of the Leckie Pentacostal Holiness Church, Leckie, W.Va. where she was referred to as the Church "Maw Maw." She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was a resident of the Anawalt/Jenkinjones area most of her life. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Mack Davis Sr.; two sons, Tommy "Tom" Davis, and Eddie Mack Davis Jr.; two sisters, Doris Sadler and Betty Jones; four brothers, Donald Farmer, Douglas Farmer, Dennis Farmer, and Billy Farmer; also a son-in-law, Butch Johnson; and her beloved dog, Misty. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Charlene Forrest and husband Kenny of O'Toole, W.Va., Patricia "Alene" Johnson of Chilhowie, Va.; daughter-in-law, Faye Davis of Leckie; three sisters, Pat Cunningham and husband Rick of Alexandria, Va., Carol Mainer and husband Gary of Alexandria, Va., Barb Norton and husband Bill of Madison, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Mack Davis of Leckie, W.Va., Jerry Davis and wife Cindi of Anawalt, W.Va., Samantha Robinette and husband J.B. of Hemphill, W.Va., Michelle Lambert and husband Buck of Abbs Valley, Va., Joe Forrest and wife Christie of Kannapolis, N.C., Amanda Hutton and husband Keith of Marion, Va., Jennifer Johnson of Chilhowie, Va.; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Leckie Pentacostal Holiness Church, Leckie, W.Va. with the Reverend Mary Lambert and the Reverend Cecil Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call at the Leckie Pentacostal Holiness Church, Leckie, W.Va. on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Richy Cunningham, Buck Lambert, Jerry Davis, J.B. Robinette, Eddie Davis, Joe Forrest, Mack Davis, and Jamie Mikles. Arrangements by Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, W.Va.
