Michael (Koolaid) Layne Groseclose of Boissevain, VA passed away on March 13, 2022. He was born on December 31,1955.

Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife, Terri Spencer Groseclose, his parents, Paul and Geraldine Groseclose, and his brother, Larry Groseclose.

Those left to carry on his memory include his daughter, Monica Asbury and husband, Chad of Abingdon, VA, daughter, Marissa Groseclose of Boissevain, VA, and son, Austin Groseclose of Roanoke, VA. Michael was blessed with four grandsons who were the light of his life- Wyatt, Jaxson, Jameson, and Bowen. Survivors also include brothers Danny Groseclose (Kathy), Russell Keith Groseclose (Laura), sister Tammy Groseclose, and sister in law, Darla Bowman. There are countless nieces, nephews, family members, and friends left behind that Michael loved immensely.

Michael was a soft spoken, gentle spirit and was a pleasure to be around. He was kind and loving and always had a smile and hug for everyone. He spent his days caring for animals of all kinds and it became a true passion for him. He loved to laugh; his sense of humor was a trademark for all those that were fortunate enough to know him. His jokes were almost as common as his "I love yous". Michael's heart was huge, and he never ceased to let those he cared for know just how much they meant to him. His absence will be felt deeply by many for years to come. May all that loved him find solace in knowing what joy he most certainly found when reunited in Heaven with those he loved that had departed.

John 16:22 Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

Funeral services will be held Friday March 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA with Rev. Reginald Blakewood officiating. Friends may call Friday March 25, 2022 at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA from 11:00am to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Groseclose Cemetery in Boissevain, VA.

Pallbearers will include Jeff Groseclose, Eric Groseclose, Chad Scarberry, Todd Phipps, Eric Palivec, Chase Asbury, and Branden Groseclose.

Honorary pallbearers: Mark Groseclose, Roger Scarberry, Robert "Fly" Harman, and Dave Asbury.
