Princeton - Mary Katherine Cumbow, 79 of Buckeye Hollow Road, Princeton went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at her residence with her family, including her furbaby, Pookie, by her side. Born in Bluefield, WV on June 18, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Pearman Dye and Carl H, Dye. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Allen "Dickie" Cumbow, daughter, Susan "Suzi" Cumbow and sister, Frances Spencer.

Mary was a lifelong member of Greenview United Methodist Church and was one of the founding members of the Green-Valley Glenwood VFD Ladies Auxiliary where she served the fire department and the community for over 40 years. She also worked in retail/grocery stores for several years as a clerk/cashier/social director and overall mischief maker. Her favorite job; however, was taking care of her grandchildren, who were her world, and often involved nature adventures, play productions and hours upon hours spent swimming, cooking and movie watching.

Those left to mourn her passing are her best friend/soulmate of 73 years, Carolyn and Ronnie Harless; daughter, Patti and Bill Brown; grandchildren, Jennifer and Adam Nuckols, Ashley and KC Cline, Bradley and Cheyenne Brown; brother, Don and Dada Dye, sister-in-law, Mary Jane Cumbow, brother-in-law, Gordon Cumbow, nephews, niece, great-nieces, great-great nieces and nephews and multiple cousins who were more like siblings.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Rev. Marva Smearman officiating. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Those attending the committal service on Friday are asked to meet at Roselawn by 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Bradley Brown, Adam Nuckols, KC Cline, Kennith (Les) Cumbow, Rusty Royce and Jamie Clark. Honorary pallbearer is David Spencer.
