Mary Myrtle Cantrell, 101 years of age of Cedar Bluff, VA, formerly of Whitewood, VA, went to be with the Lord with her family by her side, Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, VA. Born September 13, 1917 in Whitewood, VA, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Betsie Horn Cantrell.

Mary was a Christian for over eighty years and was a member of the Gloryland Church at Shorts Gap and a member of the Whitewood Senior Citizens. She loved quilting, a loving sister, aunt and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her sister Ruby Alice Horn and husband Walter of Cedar Bluff, VA; ten nieces, five nephews, several cousins and her special friend and care giver Joan Fugate.

Funeral service for Mary Myrtle Cantrell will be held at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Smith and Pastor David Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Horn Cemetery on Horn Mountain in Raven, VA.

Active pallbearers will be her family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Keene, the members of Gloryland Church and Whitewood Senior Citizens.

The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Saturday, September 22nd after 6:00 p.m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
