BROADFORD, Va. - Marvin Blake Taylor, age 70, born March 30, 1946, went to his heavenly home November 30, 2016. Blake was a devoted father, husband, brother and friend. He was a life-long employee of Tazewell County Sheriff's Office working for 46 years. He also was an active member of the Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church and an antique fanatic.

Blake was preceded in death by his parents Uva Steele Witt Taylor and Charlie Britton Taylor, Sr.; brothers James and David Taylor.

He leaves behind his loving wife Marian Thompson Taylor; two daughters, Amy Taylor Frye of Bristol, TN and Susan Taylor of Broadford; brother Charlie B. Taylor and wife Peggy Jean of Abingdon; four sisters, Betty McCall of Rich Valley, Nancy Elswick of Roanoke, Phyllis Burkett of Rich Valley and Christine Cook and husband Bill of Saltville; special friends Michael Smith and Jennifer Smith; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 3, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Family Cemetery. The family will receive from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
