Mark Joseph Absher, age 42, of Thompson Valley, Va., died Monday, November 29, 2010 in Thompson Valley, Va. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born March 6, 1968 at Richlands, Va., he was the son of Darrell J. Absher of Thompson Valley, Va. and the late Cora Lee “Tiny” Howery Absher. Mark was a 1986 graduate of Tazewell High School and played football for the Tazewell Bulldogs. In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Wendy Michelle Stinson Absher of Thompson Valley, Va.; one daughter, Jennifer Beth Absher of Thompson Valley, Va.; two sons, John Wayne Absher and Jesse James Absher, both of  Thompson Valley, Va.; one sister, Christy Absher of Shelbyville, Tenn.; a host of other family members and friends. Graveside services for Mark Joseph Absher will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Va. with the Reverend Barry Absher and the Reverend Charlie Absher, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be John Absher, Bob Howery, Jack Howery, Josh Absher, Mike Absher, and J.W. Howery. The family will receive friends at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va. from 6 - 9 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
