Lynn B. "Doc" Carter, 74, of Radford, VA passed away April 5, 2022 in Salem, VA. Born in Bluefield, WV he was the son of the late Tracy Walker and Loretta Carter.

Doc was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and later worked as a coalminer. Doc truly loved spending time with his family and cherished his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia Farthing, Kenneth Carter, Joseph Carter and Tracy Jarnett Carter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Iris Faye Carter of the home; Stella Carter Walker of Pulaski, VA and Jacqueline Carter Sager of Jacksonvile, FL. Sons, Tracy Walker Carter (Sara) of Bluefield, VA, Albert Edward Carter (Tiffany) of Anthem, AZ, and Michael Carter (Mandy) of Radford, VA. Grandchildren, Cole, Branson, Matthew, Seth, Ashton, Ethan and Drew Carter. Sister-in-law Edna "Tootie" Carter of Tazewell, VA and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved.

Funeral services will be held Monday April 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA with Rev. Reginald Blakewood officiating. Friends may call Monday April 11, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA. Burial will be Tuesday April 12, 2022 at 2 pm at Southwest Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA with full military rites conducted by Mercer County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Tyler Stassin, Jimmy Sager, Frank Farthing, Hoss Kitts, Jimmy Kitts and JR Boothe.
