MAX MEADOWS, Va. — Lyle Stanley Quackenbush, age 69, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Monday, May 16, 2016. He was born April 6, 1947 in New York, the son of the late Millard and Elizabeth Shay Quackenbush. Lyle was an avid fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Atlanta Braves and Miami Dolphins. He never met a stranger and his infectious smile will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Rothausen Quackenbush; children, Stephanie (Matthew) Humphreys of New Castle, VA, Stephen Quackenbush of Bluefield, VA, Sarah (Kris) Quackenbush of Max Meadows, Charlotte Kaplow of Phoenix, AZ, Tammy Bressette of New York, Tess Casler of New York, Todd Quackenbush of California, Trew Quackenbush of Chicago, IL, Tate Quackenbush of California; granddaughter, Burkley (Button) Hayes; brothers, Roy Quackenbush of New York, Gary Quackenbush of New York, Alan Quackenbush of Vermont, Bruce Quackenbush of New York, David Quackenbush of New York.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Max Meadows United Methodist Church with the Reverend Rick Lindamood and Reverend Jacob VanOver officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the trust fund for his granddaughter, Burkley Hayes at First Century Bank.
