Lois "Sis" Buskell Chambers was born on April 8, 1938, in Richlands, Virginia, and passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Commonwealth Sr. Assisted Living in Radford, Virginia. Born to Kelly Buskell and Edith Russell Buskell, she was the middle child of five siblings. Her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, three siblings, three nieces, and one nephew preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister, a special brother-in-law, an additional three nieces plus one nephew, one daughter, one son-in-law and two grandchildren.

Her nickname followed her throughout her life. Not only did her immediate family call her "Sis" but also many of her friends, some of whom did not know her given name.

Her education in elementary and secondary school was in her hometown of Richlands with an emphasis on business course work. She graduated in 1956 and was selected as "Most Courteous" by her classmates for inclusion in their yearbook. She did undergraduate work at the New River Community College and the University of Virginia.

Her career was primarily as a mother and housewife; however, she did parttime work in a family-owned flower shop (making bows was her specialty). As a dealer in a local antique shop, she beautifully refurbished and sold furniture. The only downside to this business was her desire to keep more than she sold. She was a devoted member of her bridge and garden clubs, and a student/teacher of Bible study for St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg, Virginia. She resided in the area for more than 50 years.

Those who loved her will cherish her memory and will look fondly upon her zeal for sports (especially basketball, water skiing, board games, and various card games), her knack for entertaining, and her kind and thoughtful ways. She will be missed.
