Bluefield, VA - Lilian N. Brady, 78, of Bluefield, VA, died Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV.

Born March 29, 1947 in Doylestown, PA, Mrs. Brady was a daughter of the late Stanley Wetterau and Elaine Wendt Wetterau. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield.

Out of college, she began working as a Procedures Analyst for IBM. Not long after, she followed in her mother's footsteps and began her career doing freelance editorial work. She specialized in college physics and calculus textbooks to start and became renowned in the field. She later added cookbooks to her repertoire and worked with numerous best-selling authors as well as the Culinary Institute of America. She was a golfer and tennis player in her earlier years and transitioned into an avid fan.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brady was preceded in death by her sister, Lynne Wetterau.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Francis X. (Frank) Brady, Jr. who was her high school sweetheart and companion for seven years before they spent the next 57 years married and raising a beautiful family that includes their children, Donna Lynne Clemons and husband Jason of Roanoke, VA, and Michael Patrick Brady and wife Brooks and grandchildren, Jake X. Brady and Hudson M. Brady of Pinehurst, NC. She is also survived by her brother, Bruce Wetterau of Roanoke, VA.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Mercer Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Joseph Augustine officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, lung.org

Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Virginia
