Leonard Adams, 94, of English WV passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at Pine Lodge of Beckley WV. He was born at Yukon WV, May 16,1929, the son of Samuel and Florence Adams. He was a lifetime resident of English WV. He attended Big Creek High School and was a 1948 graduate. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He was married to Louise Coleman, August 7, 1951 who passed away in 2016. He worked for Appalachian Power Company in Welch, WV for 37 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and beekeeping.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Dean and John Adams and spouse Louise Adams, mother Florence Adams Newton Byrd, brother Fred Adams and sister Audrey Adams McCormick.
Survivors include his grandson Keith Adams (Lindsay) of Columbus, OH, and great-grandchildren Wesley and Sydney Adams, niece Wanda Woody of English WV and niece Gail Osbourne of Salem NC.
Funeral Services will be held at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, War, WV at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 28, 2023 with the Rev. Spencer Oxford officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
Friends may call at 10:00 AM before the service.
