Kayetta (Kay) Frances Sanders
CHESAPEAKE, VA- Kayetta (Kay) Frances Sanders, 82 of Chesapeake, VA, a longtime resident of Princeton, died Monday, November 25, 2019 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Born March 23, 1937 near Matoaka she was the daughter of the late Basil and Elva Neely.
After graduating from Matoaka High School in 1954, Kay met her husband, Talmadge and they were married in 1955 in Princeton. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton along with her husband Talmadge where she loved to sing in the choir. She was a resident of this area until moving to Chesapeake, VA in 2008 to be close to her family. She enjoyed talking about her early life in West Virginia and tracing her family roots. She also loved camping and outdoor nature.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Talmadge Sanders; two brothers, Billy Neely and Clarence (Buddy) Neely.
Survivors include two sons, Michael L. Sanders and wife Lisa D. Sanders and Kevin D. Sanders; sister, Yvonne Bishop and one brother, Roger Neely; four grandchildren, Jamie, Aaron, Nick and Colin; five great grandchildren and many close friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Neal officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Jim and I remember how nice Mrs. Sanders was. She was a lady in the true sense of the word. Mike and Kevin, we are so sorry to see that she has died. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this sad time.

So sorry to hear this. Kay and I were the same age we went to school together. By marriage we were third cousins.
