Kathy Snow Belcher
Kathy Snow Belcher of Princeton, WV passed away peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2020.
Kathy was born and raised in Princeton, WV. Kathy lived for a time in Burkeville, VA but later returned with her son, Joseph Lee Lackey, II to Princeton in 1986. Kathy was passionate about caring for her son Lee and chose to be a mother first and foremost. Kathy went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree from Bluefield State College and a Masters Degree from Mountain State University in Beckley.
Kathy became Adjunct Professor and taught English at Mountain State University and later the University of Charleston in Beckley. She loved teaching and loved her students. She took great pride in her work. She continued teaching at the University of Charleston until she was unable to teach.
Kathy was the daughter of the late Della Mae Belcher and Rev. Roba Charles Belcher both formerly of Princeton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Hartwell; three brothers, Michael Belcher, Wayne Belcher, and R.C. Belcher.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Lee Lackey, II of Farmville, VA; one brother, Mark Belcher and wife Sharon of Bridgeport, WV; one sister, Maureen Belcher of Princeton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Kathy's wishes, she will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Kathy and I were grade school friends. She was spirited and funny, I remember her sweet smile and laugh. I know she will be missed. Praying for her son and family.
