Joshua Adam (Shrek) Blankenship, 33, of Bluefield, WV, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at PCH Bluefield Regional in Bluefield, WV.

Joshua was born January 11, 1988, in Welch, WV, a son of Maggie Hunt Blankenship and the late Clifford Eugene Blankenship. He was a PTI van driver for the railroad. He enjoyed spending time with his friends; enjoyed fishing, NASCAR races, baseball, football, wrestling, fishing and riding four wheelers.

In addition to his father, Clifford Blankenship, Joshua was preceded in death by one sister, Eugenia Blankenship; one brother, Eugene Blankenship Jr "Button" stepfather, Clifford Wayne Toler; maternal grandparents, Lee and Dora Dotson Hunt; and paternal grandparents, Harvey and Lona Blankenship.

Survivors include his mother, Maggie Toler of Bluefield, two sisters, Rachel Benge and Brenda Benge both of North Carolina; and two nephews Austin Ellis of North Carolina and Matthew Benge also of North Carolina.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 18, 2021 at 1 o'clock with Pastor Shawn Braggs officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Hunt Cemetery on the right fork of Bull Creek in Mohawk, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Adrian Keene, J.C. Morgan, Andrew Mullins, Lawrence Morgan, Scott Hunt, Keith Mullins, Anthony Lester, Jordan Morgan and Austin Ellis.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
