Live Oak, Florida - Joe Ann Tolbert, 93, of Live Oak Fl., previously of Bluefield VA, passed away December 1, 2024. She was born in Capels WV, daughter of Ella Mae and Thomas Moore. She retired from the Tazewell County Schools as a cafeteria worker for Graham High School and Springville Elementary School. She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary 9696 where she had served as President and District 9 President for many years. She was a life member of the Tazewell Moose Women's Auxiliary, Bluefield Eagles Auxiliary 857, and Bluefield American Legion. She was a member of the Live Oak Church of Christ in Live Oak Fl. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Tolbert, 2 daughters, Brenda Franklin and Deborah Franklin, 4 brothers, Eugene Moore, Jack Moore, James Moore, and Samuel Moore, and 1 sister Juanita Sheppard. Survivors include daughter Sheryl Holdbrook and son Grady Franklin and husband David Taylor, all of Live Oak Florida, 1 sister Janet Yost, 1 sister-in-law Linda Moore, grandsons Ronnie (Amanda) Holbrook, and Brian (Lori) Holbrook, 7 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 1:30pm on March 22, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the charity of your choice.
