SALTVILLE, Va. — Jerry D. Yates, age 78, passed away on October 9, 2016 in the Francis Marion Manor. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Bessie Blevins Yates, brother Jack, step brother Roger Wooldridge and grandson Alex.
Jerry was an ordained Minister and life long dairy farmer.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Roark Yates. Sons Mark Yates and wife Sharon of Saltville, Va., Mike Yates of Saltville, Va., Joseph Yates and wife Toni of Saltville, Va. Grandchildren Lance Yates and wife Ashley, Christopher Carmichael, Nicholas Yates, Benjamin Yates, Isaiah Yates. Special friends Amanda Harris and Gabriel Fuller, many other friends and family.
Funeral services for Jerry Yates will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 12, 2016 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Farmer officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
