Athens - Jeffrey Brooks Harvey, 61, of Athens, died unexpectedly Friday evening, June 12, 2026, at his home.

Born August 20, 1964, in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Roy Lee Joe Harvey & Patricia Sue Boothe Harvey.

Jeff graduated from Athens High School in 1983 and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Concord College in Athens.

In 1990, Jeff began his career in journalism with the Princeton Times, and at the present time, Jeff was still writing articles for the Bluefield Telegraph.

He was a member of the Princeton Advent Christian Church. Jeff had many interests, writing, reading, sports of all kinds, especially baseball & history concerning the civil war.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Kevin Harvey.

Left to cherish his memory, his sister, Deborah Kaye Harvey, Kevin's fiancé Kimberly Norton & her daughter Amanda Wright & husband Matt. Cousins, Ann & Jim Smith, Karen & David Hill, Darlene & Marty Thorpe and their daughter Olivia. Maternal Uncle, F. H. "Sonny" Boothe. Special nephew Jacob Adkins and good friend Kristen O'Sullivan. His furry friends, Elketra, Storm, Billy the Kid, & Rocky "AKA" Cat Budda.

Services honoring the life of Jeff Harvey will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2026, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Sam Walsh officiating. Friends may visit with the family on

Thursday from 3:00 until the service hour. Following the service, he will be cremated and inurnment will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Funeral Directory for Jeff or a charity centering on Autism, Parkinson, Cancer Research. Please honor Jeff's memory by always being gentle and kind.
