James Conrad Stafford, 84, of Iaeger, WV passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA.

James was born June 4, 1936, in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Okie and Stella Vance Stafford. He was a retired railroad conductor for Norfolk Southern Railroad and a former mayor of Iaeger. He was the last surviving member of his original family.

In addition to his parents James was preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Doris Stafford; two sisters, Theodoshia Cline and Barbara Cline; and two brothers, Clifford and Bob Stafford.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Stafford and wife Joy, Gregory Stafford and wife Dana and Stone Stafford; five grandchildren, Nicholas Stafford, Sarah Rose, Raegan Stafford, Brooklyn Matney and Preston Mullins; three great grandchildren, Tyler Stafford, Madelyn Rose and Micha Rose; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Charlotte Durham and brother-in-law Pagie Cline.

Private funeral services will be conducted Sunday morning, November 15, 2020 at 10 o'clock with Reverend Earnest Williamson officiating at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow Woodlawn Memorial Park at Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be family.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, mask are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
