ROCKY GAP, Va. — James Otis Sarver, age 79, of Rocky Gap, VA passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016.

He was born August 19, 1937, the son of the late Giles and Nellie Clark Sarver. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Arnold and Donald Sarver. James was retired from ABB and loved his two dogs and his garden.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virgie Sarver; two daughters, Patricia and Timmy Lundy of Bastian, VA; Tammy and Junior Havens of Rocky Gap, VA; four sons, Mark and Shelby Sarver of Ceres, VA, Danny and Tonya Sarver of Bland, VA, Larry and Mary Sarver of Rocky Gap, VA, Kevin and Tanya Sarver of Bastian, VA; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters, Freida Dean of Columbia, SC and Marie Conley of Narrows, VA; four brothers, Mason Sarver of Pulaski, VA, Herman Sarver of Pulaski, VA, David Sarver of Taylorsville, NC and Andrew Sarver of Taylorsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Highland Bland Chapel with Pastor George Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Clear Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
