James Burton
James Burton "Dock" Taylor, 89, of Abbs Valley, VA passed away Friday March 13, 2020 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. He was born in Abbs Valley, VA January 17, 1931 to Greever Taylor and Annie Greene Taylor.
Dock worked for 20 years at #14 Gary Mines and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers, Greever Taylor Jr., Harold Dean Taylor, Franklin Taylor and Charles Taylor. Sisters Louise Shrader and Margaret Freeman.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Marie Ball Taylor of 57 years; daughter Lucia Williams and husband Mark; son JB Taylor; grandson Spencer; granddaughters Hailey, Peyton and Tully and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday March 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA with Rev. Carlos Hess officiating. Dock will be cremated according to his wishes.

Peggy i am so sorry about Doc. i have not seen him for years excepy sitting on th porch. You probably do not know me but i was one of Bob and Ona daughter. I just loss my daughter November 29 of last year. She was 44, I have really been having a hard time, but i will try my best to come to his service. He was always one of dad favorite. I send you my deepest sympathies and pray God will bless you in this time. love to you all and prayers

We have known Doc for several years, we always looked forward to talking to him at the Shanan reunion at the miners park at Bossivain. He will be missed by a a lot on people.
