Henry Bane Kinder

Tannersville, VA

Henry Bane Kinder, Age 89, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA. He attended Asbury School in Tannersville (and later bought the property and placed his home there), Tannersville Elementary, and graduated from Rich Valley High School in 1954. He worked at the Dye Plant in Bluefield, VA and retired from Tabor Machine. Henry loved to coon hunt, garden, camp & travel. He especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and took great pride in them.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Ellis & Alice Lavannah Mitchell Kinder, Three sisters, Doris Jacquelyn (John) Olsavsky, Lucy Lavannah Brennan and an Infant Sister. Two brothers, Greever Clarence (Hester) Kinder, Elmer Clark Kinder. One Son-in-Law James Honaker & Fifteen Brother and Sister-in-laws.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Sue French Kinder; daughter Debby Honaker; the grandchildren that he treasured; Levi (Amy) Neal, Cody (Jessica) Neal & Kara Neal. His great grandchild and namesake Henry Charles Neal, whom he was so very proud of. Also step-grandchildren Hannah, Masyn & Gavin and their parents. Sister & Brother In-laws: Alice Kinder, Ed Brennan, Mabel Orr, Kathleen Allison, Ruby French, Harold (Sally) French, and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Bailey and Pastor Mike Andrews officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow at Crabtree Cemetery in Tannersville. Levi Neal, Cody Neal, Kenny French, Johnny Rickmon, Buddy French, and Ralph Hilt will be serving as pallbearers.

Donations may be made to the Tannersville Rescue Squad or Wesley Chapel Church.
