Gladys Virginia Mitchell, 98 of Wilcoe, WV passed away early Sunday morning, February 14, 2021. Born April 06, 1922 in the Gary/Wilcoe area, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Murray Goins & Ms. Alpha Hooker-Goins.

Gladys was a devoted Housewife of the Pentecostal Faith and the last member of her immediate family who, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband of fifty eight years, Louis T. Mitchell; also one son in law, Wayne Franklin; five brothers: Roosevelt, Harvey, Roy, Coy & James, as well as nine sisters: Louvina, Jenneta, Della, Hattie, Essie, Vinie, Carrie, Oney & Mary.

Gladys is survived by her son, Lewis (Pete) Mitchell & wife Pat of Wilcoe, WV; daughter, Shelva Franklin of Powhatan, VA; five grandsons: Danny, David & Dennis Mitchell, as well as Russell & Roger Franklin; two granddaughters: Rhonda Sutphin & Debbie Giella; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; hosts of nieces and nephews; sisters in law: Charlotte Mitchell of Wilcoe, WV & Edith Mitchell of Princeton, WV; and all of her special friends at McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 11:00am with Reverend Tim Akers officiating from the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Welch, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at 10:00am. Family members will be serving as Pallbearers with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.

Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all persons attending and social distancing is to be practiced with attendance limited to twenty five persons.
