Burke's Garden, VA - Frank G. Smith, age 86 of Burke's Garden, VA, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025 at his home. Born February 6, 1939, in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Maurice Edward Smith and Pauline Elizabeth Farmer Smith. Frank was fond of travel, baseball, college football and basketball, and gardening and yardwork. He loved his family deeply and cared for them well. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Felty Smith; brother, Maurice Smith; sister, Judy Burton; brothers-in-law, Bob Burton, Ray Nash, Harry Tibbs, and Bill Felty; sister-in-law Norma Smith; and nephews Tim Nash, Andy Burton, and Alexander Kidd.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Beth Hansford and husband Monte of Burke's Garden, VA; grandson, Corey Glenn Hansford and wife Mikayla and great-granddaughter, Nora Hansford of Ladson, SC; sisters, Barbara Nash and Sandra Kidd and husband, Garland J., all of Roanoke, VA; sisters-in-law, Betty Felty and Betty May Tibbs, both of North Augusta, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
As per Frank's wishes, there will be no services, and interment will be private at Burke's Garden Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burke's Garden Cemetery Association, ℅ Barbara Rhudy, 7756 Burkes Garden Road, Tazewell, VA 24651.
