Ethel Marie Abshire, 88 of Granite Falls, NC and formerly of Bluefield, VA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, Hudson, NC. She was born in Boissevain, VA on October 4, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Alonzo Hampton Farley and Mattie Lucas Farley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Avery Abshire and a son, William Roger Abshire.

Mrs. Abshire is survived by one son: Robert Abshire and wife, Ruth of Granite Fall, NC; 3 grandsons: Shane Abshire of Maiden, NC, Bobby Abshire of Granite Falls, NC and Brandon Abshire of Granite Falls, NC; 2 granddaughters: Patricia Abshire of Granite Falls, NC and Samantha Jolley of Dubai, United Arab Emirates; 6 great-grandchildren: Payeton Abshire, Ashton Abshire, Taylor Abshire, Brody Abshire, Hailey Perkins, Justice Greene, Jewell Greene; one great great-grandson, Elijah Greene.

Funeral services for Mrs. Abshire will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with the Rev Kathy Hagerman officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
