PAGETON - Eloise "Lois" "Flossy" Mae (Hedrick) Farmer, of Pageton, WV went to be with her heavenly Father, Tuesday -January 6, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a short battle with cancer. Born May 9, 1928, in Hiawatha, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Agustus Hedrick and Josie Pine (Underwood) Hedrick. She was married to the late James "Jim" Garfunkle Farmer, for a blessed 46 years. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Long Point Baptist Church in Spencer's Curve. She was also associated with the Leckie Pentecostal Holiness church in Leckie, WV. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and an awesome grandmother. She worked at the Celenease Plant and Maiden Form. But the job she loved began when she became a wife, mother and homemaker. She had been a resident of McDowell County for most of her life. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her late husband James "Jim" Farmer, one daughter Regina Mae "Farmer", two granddaughters Kimberly Ann Farmer and Amy Nicole Farmer, three brothers, Fred Hedrick, Earl Hedrick and James Hedrick, three sisters Ora Hedrick-Thornton, Mary (Maxie) Hedrick-Smith and Blanche Hedrick-Coalson. She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Larry and wife Judy Farmer of Pageton, WV, Ronnie and wife Diane of Leckie, WV, Ricky Farmer and companion Kathy Burge of Bluefield, WV, and Greg Farmer of Pageton, WV, one daughter Vickie Farmer-Mikles and husband James Mikles of Princeton, WV. Grandchildren Teresa Farmer of Pageton, WV, Larry Farmer II and wife Stephanie of Rockwell, NC, Rosanna Farmer-Scott and husband Daniel of Abbs Valley, VA, Tessa Farmer-Kavney and husband Michael of Hickory NC, Travis Hedrick and wife Melissa of Latrobe, PA, Jacob Farmer of Pageton, WV, and Chase Mikles. Great-grandchildren Adam, Dustin, Hunter, Thomas, Dawson, Caitlin, Kayden and Jocelyn. Great-Great-grandchildren Aiden, Skylar and Levi. Special caregivers, Dr. Schor, Dr. Cofer and the staff at Hospice Compassus. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Mary Lambert and Brother Donnie Farmer, II officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where grandsons, family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
