Lexington, KY - LEXINGTON, KY - Edward Riley "E.R." Sanders, 87, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Spanishburg, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025. Born May 9, 1938, in Lashmeet, he was the son the late John Bane Sanders and Mildred "Ted" Lusk Sanders.

Edward was a 1956 graduate of Spanishburg High School. He was also a veteran of U.S. Army. He was owner and operator of Creative Cabinetry in Baltimore, MD for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Sanders.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kay Vaughan Sanders; children, Michael Sanders of Towson, MD, and Suzanne Shields of Cockeysville, MD; step-children, Sharon Tropf and husband Pete, Greg Willard, and Valorie Walz and husband Scott, all of Lexington, KY; step-children from a previous marriage, Arlene Dalcin of Oregon, and Scott Taylor of Florida; grandchildren, William Sanders, Ashley Sanders, Kaine Shields, Nathan Tropf, Adam Tropf, and Katherine Tropf; and brother, Gale Sanders and wife Judy of Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Randy Sargent, officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton.
