He met me and my brother (late at night) when we had to come to Princeton to tell my father of my sister's passing. Having such a wonderful calming influence in the house with us was a blessing I'll cherish forever.

My name is Darla (Welch) Herrick my brother was Jimmy Welch who passed away but went to David’s church. Jimmy loved his church and David. Thanks to David and you all for all your kindness you gave us at Jimmy’s memorial. So sorry to hear about David but I pray him and Jimmy and my Dad are having a Bible study in heaven with Billy Graham. God Bless

David was a loving and kind man whom I had the pleasure of calling my pastor while living in Princeton,WV. I will always remember his warm smile and kind heart.
I will also remember the trip he made to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital when my son Bradley had his first brain surgery. His selfless act of kindness and support touched my heart. RIP Dr.David Dockery

He was always there whenever I called. If Alabama was playing he might put me on hold for a while. Then I would hear that cheerful voice say "Hello Mike". I will miss him more than I can say.

This community lost a great leader and supporter when we sadly had to say goodbye to Dr. David Dockery. Our sincere condolences go out to his wife, Maribeth, and his children. Our prayers are with you all and with the Church. I can only imagine their feeling of loss after 29 years of being with his ministry. Heaven has a special place for those who tend His flock so faithfully.

David’s voice was the first we heard from Mt. St. Bapt. Assn. when they called us to serve in southern WV. David was a true partner and brother in ministry. His life and pulpit aligned with each other; he lived what he preached. His last sermon was to a group of pastors gathered at the Dockery house to pray for him. He admonished us to preach the gospel with our last breath. His legacy will be one of creating community by preaching truth and showing love to all.
