Roanoke - Clayton Leo Morgan 83 of Bluefield WV died on January 29, 2026 in a Roanoke hospital. He was born in Elk Lick, WV on March 24, 1942 and was a son of the late Charlie and Juanita Short Morgan. Clayton graduated from Columbus West High School, in Columbus, OH. he received his Bachelor's degree from Concord College and his Masters from WVU. Clayton was an elementary school teacher and later Director of Safety with Eastern Coal where he also, A Worldwide Coal Salesman with Eastern Coal. He served his country in the Air Force from 1961-1965. Throughout his life he enjoyed many hobbies and playing golf and travel.

Surviving is his children Clayton Morgan, Jr. And wife Jennifer of Bluefield, VA, Fred Morgan and wife Pamela of Bluefield, VA Patrick Morgan of Thailand and Kevin Morgan of Charleston, WV. Grandchildren: Matt Morgan, Princeton, WV Emily Morgan of Bluefield. VA Great Grandchildren: Clara jean Morgan of Princeton, WV, Karly Morgan of Winston Salem, NC, Maddie Morgan of Mann, WV Ben Morgan of Winston Salem, NC. also, surviving are Brothers: Eudell Morgan and wife Francis of Dover TN, David Morgan and wife Freda of Knoxville, TN and Terry Morgan and wife Martha of Brunswick, OH and a sister: Lorane Hawk of Pilot Mountain. Funeral services will be Saturday February 14, 2026 at 11:00 am at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ty Morgan officiating Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 until services time
