Claudia Mae Woody
Claudia Mae Woody transitioned on March 17,2020. Claudia was born on December 2, 1950 in Welch, WV, to the late Seaborn and Evelyn Hearn. She simultaneously worked at Welch Community Hospital and McDowell County Rescue Squad for 37 years. Claudia was a member of Kimball High School Alumni and Eastern Star Association She was also a devoted member of Miracle Mount Carmel Holiness Church of God of Kimball, WV under the leadership of the late Bishop Arnie H. Joyce, faithfully serving on the Usher Board, Finance Committee, and Sunday School.
In addition to her mother, Claudia is preceded in death by her husband Hezekiah Woody.
She leaves to mourn her only child, Leonard M. Hearns; three grandchildren: Bianca Hearns of Suffolk, VA, Tyler Hearns of Windsor, VA and McKinley M. Hearns of Bluefield, WV; two great grandchildren; three sisters: Evelyn Jones, Joyce (Boris Mudd) Hearn, and Sylvia (Jerry) Winston, all of Fort Wayne, IN; three brothers: John Hearn of Fort Wayne, IN, Thomas Hearn of Durham, NC, and Clarence Hearn of Bessemer, AL; uncle, Robert Berger of Bluefield, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
Claudia was a peaceful woman of God. She was a Cancer survivor who gave time and self to those in McDowell and Mercer Counties. She was truly one of a kind and anyone who knew her was likely enriched by having her in their lives.

I am so sorry for your loss. Miss Claudia was so sweet. I used to live @ the end of her street then moved 2 streets down. I tried keeping in touch with her. She will surely be missed. RIP sweet lady.

I worked at the rescue squad with Claudia and her husband, she was truly a one of a kind, her smile was contagious.

Mrs Claudia cared. She always was genuinely concerned when she asked how are you. She always rememberd my mom in asking as if she was looking out for me on her behalf. Just a very sweet lady. RIP. I WILL MISS YOU
