HENDERSON, NC - Charlotte Lee Hansbarger Meadows, 74, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at her home in Henderson, NC.

Born in Mercer County, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Hansbarger Jr. and Flora Mae White Hansbarger.

Mrs. Meadows was a member of the First Baptist Church of Altavista, VA. She worked as a Childcare Director for the YMCA in Altavista, VA.

A private funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at Broyles-Shrewbury Funeral Home. A public graveside service will follow the service at 11:00 a.m. at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, conducted by Pastor Joe Spencer.

Surviving is her husband of fifty-four years, John Wayne Meadows Sr.; three sons, John Wayne Meadows Jr. (Karmen), Todd Hampton Meadows (Nikki), and Brandon Matthew Meadows (Emily); One daughter, Crystal Meadows Burgess (Troy); eight grandchildren, Kelly Dixon (Jason), Jimmy Ramsey (AmyJo), Katie Meadows, Shae Meadows, Paige Meadows, Zoey Meadows, Gunner Burgess, and Reese Meadows; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Trish Martin; and one brother, John Henry Hansbarger III. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Flowers may be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Altavista YMCA, 718 7th St., Altavista, VA 24517, attention Steve Jester.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, those planning to attend the service, are asked to adhere to all CDC guidelines by wearing a face covering of some sort, and to practice social distancing.
